FDM 222, FASHION STYLING WORKSHOP/FASHION IMAGE & STYLING
3-SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS. PR: SOPHOMORE STANDING.

Also Required: Laptop, USB key, Digital camera.

Course Description: Overview of fashion items needed to attract media attention for a fashion magazine and its editorials. Students produce a photo shoot for a specific target audience with live models, on location, in a professional studio.

FDM 230, VISUAL MERCHANDISING
3-SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS. PR: SOPHOMORE STANDING.

The analysis of visual merchandising strategies for showrooms, concept stores, mono-brand stores and department stores will be the key element of the course along with the understanding of the tools to create a strategic language for a fashion brand. Students will develop a theoretical, analytical and critical approach through guided tours to the most relevant concept stores in Milan. At the end of the course they will be asked to develop an individual project.

FDM 232: FASHION DESIGN WORKSHOP/
FASHION DESIGN II
3-SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS. PR: SOPHOMORE STANDING.

Also required: Digital camera, laptop, sketchbook, tailor’s shears, pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener, colored pencils, square and ruler, straight pins. 


Course Description: Students research a topical theme or trend to design a small coordinated collection including notebook/sketchbook, mood board, finished, and flat drawings, and an original draped prototype. Theoretical lessons and field trips.

FDM 233: FASHION ACCESSORIES WORKSHOP/ACCESSORIES DESIGN
3-SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS. PR: SOPHOMORE STANDING.

Also required: Handicraft ability, computer graphics techniques, digital camera, laptop, USB key. 


Course Description: An exploration of the fundamentals of luxury accessories brand collections, specifically Made in Italy shoes and bags. Exposure to basic skills required for coordinating and developing a new luxury accessories brand. Introduction to technical methodology of shoe production.
